Schwäbische Alb

Today was a tour of the hochgeh-Berge, which we had a lot of fun. Many mountain hiking trails were announced in Komoot's planning and there were actually many stony paths. The paths were mostly shady in the forest.

Today we enjoyed the warm weather with the heralds of spring. It is blooming everywhere and the trees are turning green. 🌿



With the Hohenneuffen, where there was a snack at the kiosk, and the two caves, it was a varied and exciting tour for the children.

From Burgfelden we hiked to the Schalksburg. The way there leads past many benches with a view and also has a short section on a ridge. You can climb the Schalksburg Tower and have a great all-round view. Then you descend on a trail. The opposite ascent is difficult to find as the path is partly overgrown… leggi altro

There was a lot to do on this tour, from snow angels to very muddy paths and colorful heralds of spring. We also met several mice, unfortunately they were a bit photo shy. 😉



The highlight for our children was the Wassersteinhöhle, even if we only walked a short distance into it.

Hechingen fairy tale trail



After the swing path, the short detour was a good idea and so we also visited the fairy tale trail.



A total of 10 fairy tales are presented. Since there are no boards with the stories, you should be fairly familiar with fairy tales in order to be able to tell the story if necessary… leggi altro

It was a varied and beautiful hike along the Wiesaz to the Gönninger lakes and on part of the highly fought path. We walked on snow and discovered spring.



The tuff rocks on the Wiesaz and the Gönninger lakes are impressive. We also liked the two waterfalls on the Wiesaz.

Spring tour as a change from our snow tour on the last Sunday with ☀️ pure



We started early again and had the path along the Brühlbach and the Urach waterfall to ourselves. That was brilliant, so we could marvel at everything in peace. Some of the stairs at the waterfall are still completely flooded… leggi altro

Magnificent lion path that is well signposted



Apart from a decent ascent, most of the time you are on the road without major differences in altitude.



There are many lookout rocks from which you can enjoy fabulous views. Resting options are also always available.

Since the leaves have already fallen from the trees, you walk a lot in the sun and always have a beautiful view of Hohen Urach.



There is a particularly beautiful view from Buckleter Kapf.

Family outing with four highlights😀



At first it went over fields and heaths and past a quarry. It dragged on until the first highlight of the Nebelhöhle. We had the fog cave to ourselves but had to wear masks due to Corona. So we could explore the beautiful cave in peace. On the beaten track we went… leggi altro

Excursion in bright sunshine to the Swabian Alb



After the steep ascent, we were rewarded again and again with great views. There was a lot of flight activity at Rossfeld, so we could watch some planes take off. The highlight are the Dettinger Höllenlöcher with the two ladders.

Fantastic winter tour in the snow



Shortly after the parking lot there is a popular sledge slope that we left behind before the first sledge drivers came. Due to our early start, we didn't meet anyone until shortly before the Lochenstein.

We left early and were out alone. It was wonderful in the snow and sunny. We had planned the snow waltz, but since it was blocked, we spontaneously finished the round from autumn that we had canceled at the time.

An absolutely recommendable tour on one of the Uracher Grafensteige on a wonderful autumn day. Although the parking lot for hikers was overcrowded, we met relatively few.



If we run the loop again, we go straight to Rabenfelsen and skip the trail that is marked as a highlight. It is beautiful, but it stretches… leggi altro

Today it was consistently cloudy but still beautiful.



Unfortunately there are no photos of the wild boars in the game reserve. There were many wild boars on the way that fled before I could take photos.

Hike at the 10 thousand meters on the Swabian Alb



We started at the hiking car park on the Oberhohenberg and went along the Albtrauf to the Hochberg. There were amazing views along the way.

With initially windy and cloudy weather, we were almost alone on the first half of the tour. In order to have the biggest climb at the beginning, we ran the lap like this.



The views of the Lichtenstein are wonderful. We were very surprised by the number of lookout rocks.
