Straight cycle paths lead you over wide fields, through rustic villages, into refreshingly cool forests and along natural rivers. On the way you can admire some of Hesse's most beautiful castles and palaces and be enchanted by small towns with charming half-timbered houses.
The BahnRadweg Hessen runs on former railway lines such as Röhnbahn or Oberwaldbahn and takes you away from the streets along the old railway lines through beautiful nature from Hanau to Bad Hersfeld. It is known and loved for the beautiful scenery on the route.
The entire route network of the cycle path has a very good infrastructure. Everything is included, from bicycle rest stops and restaurants along the route to overnight accommodation at the stage destinations. The route can be planned flexibly as either multi-day tours, circuits or individual sections of the route.
In this collection I have put together two routes that will take you from Hanau to Bad Hersfeld in five or three days. If one route is not enough for you, you can ride both routes combined with each other as an approximately 400 kilometres long circuit.
