The goal was to plan a tour that is varied, but contains a few technical trails but does not have too many vertical meters (not so easy here in the Harz Mountains 😉).

The two most impressive ways to chop in one tour!

Great MTB tour from Braunlage to Bad Lauterberg to the Oder dam.
On the way there a few climbs, among others up to the Stöberhai 😓 (highest mountain in the southern Harz). The way back runs beautifully along the Oderstausees. Caution, sometimes extremely close to the abyss ... 😲😁.

Hike through the impressive and jungle-like Bodetal.
Start at the top of the Rosstrappe parking lot (free of charge), very nice hiking route north of the Bode to Treseburg (not very busy even on Sundays). Then along the Bode back to Thale. This time we saved the ascent back to the Rosstrappe and took the chairlift 😇.

A short, relatively unspectacular round trip on the Schiedersee.
Most of the paths were wide and often paved. "Sporty" highlight - the steep ascent to the Kahlenberg and the Kahlenberg tower! I couldn't resist the beautifully laid out treading pool, but I can't keep up with the cold today (JUNE !!!) ... 😂
