Aviemore to Cullen Bay, via the Speyside way. The often grass-covered Speyside way loosely follows the River Spey, often on the bed of an old railway line, which makes for flat easy miles through the Moray countryside in north east Scotland. The coolest thing about the Speyside Way is that many of the old platforms and stations are still in place. So you can choo-choo on through just as the trains would bave done in years gone by. Many stations have been restored to their original glory and are now houses or quaint cafes. And if you’re after something a little stronger than tea or coffee, you could always to one of the many whiskey distilleries nearby and be sure to finish up with an ice cream at Cullen Bay.
