A real insider tip: Burghausen from the Salzach. The longest castle in the world can be found here. Located on a narrow rock spur, it is more than 1000 meters long. A visit is worthwhile both inside and out. The old town, built in the typical Salzach Inn style, is also absolutely worth seeing.
