Natursteig Sieg 2021

So today the official stages 3 and 4 of the Natursteig Sieg. We already knew the great Blankenberg Castle from the Bergischer Weg, but the second visit was also worth it. As an extra show we were allowed to see a hot air balloon land 😎

Today we continued the Natursteig Sieg, the official stages 1 to 4 of which we had completed in August in 2 stages. Today then the official stage 5 and (partly) 6, for us stage 3. A hike from sunrise to sunset 😊

Our fourth stage (the official seventh stage) on the Natursteig Sieg led us today from Herchen to Windeck. We took the first seven kilometers of the official eighth stage (up to Windeck Castle and down to Schladern) with us, and then headed for the local train station when it got dark. Even when the sky was overcast all day, the Sieg Natursteig gave us another beautiful stage today, which took us from Schladern via Au to Wissen. Three crisp climbs at the beginning, then a very long ascent up to Halscheid and at the end of the stage a rather relaxed end.

After the rainy Saturday we had luck with the weather the next day, because from the start to the finish point not a single raindrop bothered us, but there was plenty of water (in different mixtures and consistencies) under our feet 😆

The weather forecast for today announced a consistently "gray day" with a 40% probability of rain and temperatures around freezing point. That seemed good enough to us to tackle the next stage of the beautiful Natursteig Sieg 😊
