Today I ran with Raz from Israel. The highlight was the trail fishing on the Montezuma Valley Road: They invited to drinks, sandwiches and fruit. As a German, I had to try a strong IPA. On the rainy stage, Raz, Silvi and I decide to hike 20 miles to the highway intersection and then continue to Idlewild. We want to take a day off there. On the way we meet two other PCT hikers who offer us to spend the night with them in their rented lodge. Completely soaked, we arrive at the accommodation… leggi altro

After a relaxing 'zero day' in the rainy Idlewild, Raz and Silvi will be back on the trail in the sunshine. It is the most beautiful stage so far, the views are terrific. In the end it will be exhausting again, but we will be rewarded with campsites right on the slope and with a wonderful panoramic view.

Yes, but luckily I have a thick down sleeping bag 😉

Endless, hot descent from San Jacinto. Passed mile 200 and a couple of rattlesnakes. Morning rest day in Palm Springs.

Pleasant and relaxed stage. Just 6 miles to the highway tomorrow and then Big Bear Lake for one night.

With supplies replenished, it's back on the trail from Big Bear Lake. The next shop is in about 5 days. I also bought a larger water bag to make filtering and transferring easier. The stage went partly with beautiful views of Big Bear Lake.

Kristin, this was the first time your AntiBrumm forte was used on the trail in the evening. I was so happy to have it with me 😉

We start early to take a bath in the Deep Creek Hot Springs around 7 a.m. after four miles with the air temperatures still pleasant. Later it will be another hot and sunny stage. Deep Creek is always easy to see below us with its green surroundings. We cross it a few times so that we can fill up with enough water.
