Die Wege abseits vom Straßenverkehr sind mein Ziel.
Fahre seit 20.06.2019 mit Komoot auf Entdeckung.
Die ersten Wochen waren sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig.
Aber wenn man das System erst verstanden hat ist es die beste Navigation ever.

      This morning we left the Schlosshotel Reichenschwand with a cloudy sky, but warmer temperatures like the previous mornings. We first drove to Reichenschwand Castle again and Rolli then walked around the castle alone to look at the park. But then I wasn't really flashed either. Some trees are quite beautiful, but as it says on the board at the entrance that it is a collection of extraordinary trees, I can't quite confirm. Everyone sees it with different eyes 👀.
      From Reichenschwand we drove via Ottensoos to Lauf an der Pegnitz. The old town is very impressive. At the Pegnitz at the moated castle we could see some men who installed an installation of light objects. One of the men was standing in the river. We all flirted together 🤣. We then crossed the Pegnitz on a beautiful bicycle bridge. From there we went on to Schwaig near Nuremberg, where we took a break at an ice cream parlor and Rolli could enjoy the ice cream of the day 😋🤣. We drove around the castle in Schwaig and later came to the former industrial estate of Hammer. The Hammer factory is one of the most important constructions of a fortified medieval industrial settlement in Europe. In this hammer mill, brass products were manufactured almost continuously from 1492 until they were destroyed in World War II. Today an exhibition and the historical buildings that z. Partly from the 16th and 17th centuries, an insight into the more than 600-year history of the factory village and its early exemplary social system.
      From there it went on along the Pegnitz to the ruins of the moated castle Oberburg. We were now approaching the city limits of Nuremberg.
      Since we hadn't seen everything on the Nazi party rally grounds when we arrived a week ago, we decided to go back to the documentation building and have a look at the Zeppelin grandstand and the huge former arena. We then drove around the Dutzendteich to the Zeppelin grandstand. It is the speaker's pulpit for verbal whipping
      After Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin landed his airship on the site in the south of Nuremberg in 1909, it was named Zeppelin Field in his honor. Nevertheless, visitors today think less of the Count of the Skies than of the Nazi party rallies. Because on the zeppelin field is the zeppelin grandstand with the golden hall inside.
      The altar-like grandstand with the pulpit was designed by Hitler's personal architect Albert Speer: 360 meters long, 20 meters high and with an open hall with 144 pillars, which were blown up in 1967 due to their dilapidation. What remains, however, is one of the greatest relics of the Nazi era in Nuremberg. It is now so ailing that parts of the grandstand are closed. Until the renovation of the grandstand is dry, supporters and opponents for preservation or controlled decay will continue to turn in circles, as will the racing cars during the annual Norisring.
      The Norisring races and the DTM races take place here at the tribune. After looking at the huge area here, we drove further along the large Dutzendteich and then became aware of a large concrete cuboid. It is the foundation stone for the German stadium, but it was never built. It had been given the gigantic size of a capacity of 400,000 people. It was to become the largest arena in the world. The Nazis' megalomania had no limits 🤨.
      At the Dutzendteich there were also a flock of wild geese looking for food. Even the white goose Martin was there. I was still looking, but Niels Holgerson couldn't be seen 🤣😂😂😂. A beautiful tame swan 🦢 was also looking for food.
      We then drove across the city and I led the group safely back to the starting point from last week, the Hotel Prinzregent.
      We are all happy to be back without a breakdown and without any problems and sad 😢 that our week is already coming to an end.
      Tomorrow morning it's back home by car and bikes on the trailer. But after the vacation is also just before the vacation. So we can already start thinking about the next trip in winter

      This morning we started at the Hotel Viennahouse in Amberg at what felt like 6 degrees Celsius 🥶😱. First we went back to the old town to get provisions for the tour.
      Then we drove once through the old town and then continued to follow the Vils out of town. The Luipoldshöhe was still veiled in the morning mist.
      Before Sulzbach Rosenberg we drove up to the Maxhütte industrial monument. A large area with an impressive sight. We then also drove to the former winding tower of the ironworks, which was left standing as a remnant in the middle of a new housing estate.
      We then drove on towards Sulzbach Rosenberg and took a break here below the parish church of St. Martin. There was also the ice cream of the day here 😋. After the break, the sun drove away the last clouds of fog. The clear, cloudless sky was fantastic today 😍.
      We have already been able to use the onion tactic and change the first clothes.
      The tour continued via Kenpfenhof to Schönlind.
      Here is the Central European main watershed at 480 meters above sea level. The point here is rather inconspicuously documented on a wooden board. There is a nice group of seats that we used for a short break. From here you also have a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The tour continued via Neukirchen bei Sulzbach-Rosenberg to Etzelwang and drove around the Brennberg and Leherberg to Weigendorf. It went up and down every now and then.
      We drove past Pommersbrunn to Hersbruck. Here we met the Pegnitz again. After the tour of Hersbruck and a short break, we drove on to Reichenschwand, where we had a nice view of the castle before we drove to the hotel. Then we drove to the castle hotel and moved into our princely rooms.
      So we could end the day satisfied for ourselves. 👑🤩🤩👍

      This morning after breakfast we pushed our bikes back through the lobby of the Hotel Münchener Hof onto the alley in front of the hotel. Dörte had forgotten her cycling gloves at the parking space. After we were ready to go, we went to Regensburg Cathedral at Rolli‘s request. Rolli really wanted to light another candle 😇. The cathedral was partly scaffolded.
      Dörte accompanied Rolli to the cathedral. An imposing structure from the outside and inside.
      After we had lit the candles 🕯, we drove to the narrowest street in Regensburg, the Kuhgässel, at Susanne's request. We also walked through this really narrow alley once. Dörte immediately asked how furniture is brought into the apartments here? 😂😂😂😂.
      Then we made our way towards Amberg. First we passed the lock, the Pfaffensteiner weir and looked at the boat lane. We then drove to the Mariaorter Bridge and then rode the narrow bike and footpath along the rails and crossed the Danube.
      Immediately behind the bridge we drove up to the Naab and could see the inflow into the Danube on the Naab bridge near Mariaort.
      From there we followed the Naab to Etterzhausen and crossed the Naab there. In Pielenhofen we got food for the way.
      We took a break after Duggendorf at the level measuring point. Then we drove to Kallmünz, where we crossed the Naab for the second time. In the tranquil town there was also the ice cream of the day 😋😋😋. At Kallmünz the Vils also flows into the Naab. From here on we continued to follow the Vils. There is also a cave house to marvel at in Kallmünz. Unfortunately it is not open to the public. So we went on.
      At Traidendorf we crossed the Vils for the first time. The route is very impressive and varied. Really great 👍. We are all really flashed by the beautiful area. Most of the paths are paved or water-bound pathways. All very easy to navigate. As I’m Michael would say Ruff and Rünner go on tour.
      We took another break at Schmidmühlen. Then we went up here on the railway cycle path at Schmidmühlen and followed the old railway line for over 20 kilometers to Amberg.
      We have our goal, the Viennahouse in Amberg then moved. A great tour with many impressions is behind us. Class 👍

      This morning we started again in warmer weather like yesterday morning. We crossed the Altmühl near Riedenburg over the Schambachtalbrücke and continued to follow the Altmühl. At Prunn we could see Prunn Castle from the Altmühl cycle path. It towers majestically on a ledge. Very impressive.
      We took our first break shortly before Kehlheim. Then we drove to the Kehlheim lock and crossed the Altmühl there.
      We then drove up the Michelsberg at 448 m above NmN over the serpentines to see the liberation hall of King Ludwig I. From here we enjoyed a beautiful view of the Danube for the first time.
      Then I climbed up to the first gallery alone and walked around the hall of honor. From up there you have a great view over Kehlheim.
      The Liberation Hall is a monument on the Michelsberg above the town of Kelheim in Lower Bavaria. Seen from Regensburg, it stands upstream of the Danube at the confluence of the Altmühl or the Main-Danube Canal with the Danube. The Liberation Hall was built from 1842 to 1863 in memory of the battles won against Napoleon during the Wars of Liberation from 1813 to 1815. The building was commissioned by King Ludwig I of Bavaria.Then it went on on the footpath down to the town of Kehlheim. First there was the ice cream of the day 😋😋😋😋. The historic old town has a great charm. Behind the old town we crossed the Altmühl one last time and then drove past the tributary of the Danube and then followed the Danube further. At Poikam we then crossed the Danube and the Danube lock canal via Brückenstraße.
      After visiting the butcher Krain near Bad Abbach 😋😋😋😋, we followed the Danube until shortly before Matting, where we had a great break on the Danube. Here you even have a great echo through the rock face opposite 😃👍. Then we continued along the Danube where we passed under the high motorway bridge of the A7 near Sinzig. It is an imposing structure. The tour continued to the next bridge, the Mariaorter railway bridge. Here, too, a great structure: Here the Naab flows into the Danube near Mariaort.
      Then we followed the Danube to the old town of Regensburg and then drove into the alleys of the old town away from the Danube at the level of the stone bridge to the Hotel Münchener Hof in the heart of the old town. Here we were able to bring our bicycles through the middle of the lobby of the 4-star ⭐️ hotel in the inner courtyard to park them there for the next night.
      Today's tour was again very varied and we really enjoyed it.
      We are very much looking forward to tomorrow, when the journey continues towards Amberg

      Tonight when the tour was uploaded, all of the pictures that had been hard experienced today were suddenly gone, so all the descriptions of the impressions were lost 😞. The impressions today were terrific. The panorama in the Altmühltal actually speaks volumes even without the written impressions.
      This morning we drove through Neumarkt at what felt like 8 degrees Celsius. When we got back to the Ludwig Danube Main Canal and drove the route away from traffic, gloves had to be pulled out. Since there was also a closed cloud cover, the cool airstream felt very cold to each of us.
      We then followed the Ludwig Danube Main Canal to Berching. Once there, we crossed the Sulz and after we left the historic old town we continued the journey on the Main Danube Canal. The first view of the canal and the landscape is very impressive.
      The next highlight awaited us at the Berching lock. The huge lock with its 200 meter length and 17 meter drop height is a great structure. 41,000 cubic meters of water fit into the lock basin. We arrived at the lock when a freighter was being locked from the upper fairway to the lower fairway. So we could see the process very well. At the end the huge sluice gate opened. An impressive process. And how quickly the water masses are pumped out into the storage basins on the side. A crazy spectacle 😃👍🔝.
      After the process was finished, we continued our journey along the Main Danube Canal to Beilngries. Once there, Rolli first went to the imposing church of St. Walburga and 🕯 lit 🔥 a candle for us.
      Here we crossed the Altmühl for the first time.
      At the Beilngries glider airfield, we took a nice break again. From there it went on through the Altmühltal.
      At Griesstetten we crossed the Main Danube Canal, where the Altmühl also flows in.
      In Dietfurt there was also the ice cream of the day 😋😋😋😋.
      The White Laber with a network of several rivers also flows through Dietfurt from the Main Danube Canal.
      Then we drove around the Wolfsberg and returned to the Main Danube Canal. Shortly before Riedenburg, the Main Danube Canal flows again as Altmühl after the large Riedenburg lock. At the lock we changed the river banks and then went to Riedenburg and ended the tour at our hotel.
      The tour was very impressive and varied. The panorama is very impressive.
      Satisfied, we have moved into our rooms and are looking forward to tomorrow, when we continue towards Regensburg 😃👍
