Peace Path / A city tour to monuments and places of remembrance in LüneburgThe Friedenspfad leads along 24 monuments, from which the history of Lüneburg becomes clear in the mirror of German, European, yes: world history. The monuments are intended to stimulate thought about the causes and consequences of war and tyranny: Think!
The Peace Path project is an idea of the Günter Manzke Peace Foundation, which was founded 50 years after the end of World War II in Lüneburg in 1995. It is involved in the Lüneburg region and supports projects that are committed to promoting peace in the social, cultural and political fields.
Both world wars brought endless suffering to many peoples. The Lüneburg 'Peace Path' is intended to remind people of this and to urge peace.friedenspfad-lueneburg.de/Der_PfadThe peace path as an app:

- Exactly at 9.45 am I stood at the foot of the St. Johanniskirche, in which the tower blowers had positioned themselves up in the tower and started to let their melodies sound over the roofs of Lüneburg - definitely a "must have heart"

- There were 5 graffiti ghosts on the route / there is a community of ghost hunters who are looking for these friendly companions in and around Lüneburg - the perfect hobby in Corona times luenepedia.de/wiki/Graffitigeister
- and of course I couldn't pass the market square without going through the weekly market

Today's lunch break dog dogs was a bit of a challenge in terms of the terrain:
The puddles of the past few days are slowly forming small lakes. Puddle hopping level up!
The surface of the field and forest paths is deeply saturated with rainwater, muddy & muddy, the stretches on the clay soil are super slippery.
The motto of the Nordmarsch Winter Challenge lives up to its name: Pure Winterk (r) ampf.
But the air is great and little snow flakes dance around the tips of our noses.
The dog thinks this weather is great, he bathes in the snow and is slowly on the verge of freezing in his brain, he has eaten so much snow.7 gennaio 2021

Juhuuu 😃 it's done, the 300km in December are cracked with this and I hope with my commitment to have contributed to a solid mileage of my team, the hiking friends Urbanmarsch, in the winter battle challenge. Thanks to Corona, I reactivated the Komoot app on my iPhone in the spring of this year and, due to the lockdown, began to expand the lengths of my dog laps. At first it was a test, I wanted to know whether (when the time comes) I would be able to cope with the stages of the Camino Frances with lengths of 25-33 km a day.
In the course of the weeks I “licked blood”, signed up for virtual mega-marches, finished the island hero on Föhr and the 55km on the urban march in Hamburg. On these marches and on the hikes here in front of the front door, I was able to get to know a lot of great people - on the streets and here virtually at Komoot and I don't want to miss any of you out there again. You are great and I am happy that you let me take part in your tours, routes, impressions and everything.
THANK YOU for allowing me to be part of it! I'm looking forward to a great new year with you and your great inspirations, nice & lovingly funny but always friendly comments ☺️Thanks & see you next year! Take care of yourself and stay healthy.31 dicembre 2020

The penultimate day of the year, the penultimate opportunity to collect kilometers for the winter battle in order to break the 300km mark for December. We started at sunny, windy, fresh 3 degrees. After about 3 km the planned Komoot route said goodbye to us and so our motto was “always follow your nose”. With no well-developed sense of direction, the tour turned into a nice adventure hike with few people encounters, as we were traveling across country. It felt like half of our route was characterized by riding trails, which was very idyllic, but also difficult to walk, because these trails do not have solid ground and are therefore semi-good to annoying as hiking trails for longer distances. The mileage for this month with today's tour is 285 / to the targeted 300km mark, only 15km are missing - feasible 😉
