Very nice little half-timbered town located on the Moselle! The market square and the small streets with the half-timbered houses are very worth seeing.
Above Bernkastel-Kues lies the Landshut castle ruins with the castle restaurant.
From there you have a very nice view of the town and the Moselle.

      Very nice varied hike.
We started in Kues, via Bernkastel, up to Landshut Castle. From the managed castle you have a beautiful view of the Moselle valley and the village of Bernkastel-Kues. Unfortunately the castle restaurant with the beautiful inner courtyard and roof terrace was closed.
Further down through Bernkastel, with the beautiful historic half-timbered houses and the market square, through the Graachter Tor up to the excursion restaurant "To the iron wine list". But this was also closed on Tuesday.
The way to the restaurant, through the vineyards, was almost entirely paved or tarred.
From there it went steadily up the mountain on forest and forest roads and then steadily downhill again to Traben-Trarbach.
There we are up to the castle ruins of Grevenburg. The path was very slippery due to the many natural stone steps and the rain that came up every now and then during the hike.
From Grevenburg you have a very nice view of Traben-Trarbach and the former fortress of Mont Royal. Unfortunately, only a fraction of the castle and fortress are left after they were blown up and razed by the French in 1734.
Finally, we crossed the bridge to Traben and ended the day in the Christmas market at the Restaurant / Hotel Moselschlösschen with a glass of mulled wine or two.

Very beautiful world of lights on a former waste dump of the Sophia Jacoba Hückelhoven colliery near Aachen. To get to the dump and the observation tower you have to climb 400 steps.
But there is also the possibility of a shuttle bus to take you up there.
There are a few Christmas booths on the plateau, where you can also eat and drink.
From above you have a beautiful view of the city of Hückelhoven and the surrounding area.

Our house round just a few minutes away from us.
We have walked the round so many times.
I have finally set this up at komoot.
Actually nothing special, the path is almost completely paved, but the lake, especially when the sun is shining, is worth a look!
At the lake there are two cozy cafes with a beautiful terrace right on the water

      A beautiful city! 🙂
The city has felt several thousand steps
you have to climb it to see it and to get up to the Landgrave Castle.
The historic upper town with its half-timbered houses, the Landgrave Castle and the Lahn are well worth seeing.
The weather was great today and we were able to sit in the sun during the day. 🙂

So now we can finish the old town round. The first day here in Salzburg where it didn't rain, snow or hail.
Very nice castle with a garden. Unfortunately, the gardening season is already over.
Nevertheless, very beautiful and very worth seeing view over the old town to the fortress! 🙂

      A beautiful city!
Visiting the fortress is one of the many highlights of the tour.
The old town first, the view from the fortress and the Mönchsberg are also part of it.
At the end of the tour it started to rain and hail. We have therefore postponed Mirabell Palace until tomorrow.

Beautiful city with lots of historical buildings!
The Marienberg Fortress is worth a visit and from there you have one of the most beautiful views of Würzburg. 🙂

We started in Cochem in the parking garage. From there up to the Pinner Cross. You can take the cable car or go up on foot.
In any case, make a detour to the terrace of the mountain station, enjoy the view and if you want you can also get snacks to eat and drink there.
The way to the Pinnerkreuz is really nice and rocky and at the cross with a beautiful view of Cochem.
From there you can take the Moselhöhenweg / Moselsteig trail, always along the slope, to Klotten. On the way there are very beautiful views of the Moselle valley.
Klotten impresses with the historic houses, the beautiful location on the Moselle and the restaurants.
Then we took the ferry across to the Conder side. The start of the demanding ascent to the Conder Heights is right at the ferry landing.
Good step resistance on the scree path up the slope is absolutely necessary.
Once at the top, we passed a small bridge with a waterfall (very nice), over the Conder Heights, to the weather vane viewpoint.
The weather vane is a beautiful vantage point with a hut and a view of Cochem. From there steeply downhill, partly through vineyards, to Cond and over the bridge back to Cochem.
Wonderful hike, very varied and peppered with many highlights!

Very nice town with small streets, historic houses and a port.
Middelburg owes its name to the fact that the middle castle on Walcheren once stood here. In the 9th century, when the Vikings invaded Europe, a rampart castle was built on Walcheren. Middelburg was the middle one and was therefore given this name. When the danger passed, the city developed into a trading center. In 1217 Middelburg was granted city rights.
At the time of the VOC, Middelburg was the most important city in the Netherlands after Amsterdam. Over a period of 200 years, around 300 new ships were built at the local shipyards. These ships went to Asia to trade in spices, textiles and porcelain. In the city center of Middelburg there are still buildings that remind of this golden age.
Middelburg once owned the most historic buildings after Amsterdam. Today there are still around 1,100 monuments in the city center.
