Medium-difficulty MTB tour - almost exclusively single trails around the whole of Höhr-Grenzhausen - however, both at "Waldfrieden" and in Grenzau not passable from summer as they are overgrown by thorns and hedges. Spring is the best time.

Something different: From Höhr-Grenzhausen via Hillscheid, Welschneudorf, Nassau to the Lahn down to Obernhof. I'm back by train to Diez and then a piece of the bike path to Diez / Ost. A somewhat longer tour - documented from Emmelshausen to Stipshausen near Idar-Oberstein. Initially very nice to drive on the old railway line to Simmern. From then on it goes initially on the Hunsrück cycle path, which unfortunately is not always recognizable as such. Then relatively soon branched off…

In May 2020, the Brexbach Valley is finally passable again after a gust of wind has made the path impassable in many places. It is sad when you hear that the communities of Ransbach and Bendorf want to make a bicycle path out of the old railway line - then it would be over with this beautiful MTB route…
A simple but beautiful round trip over rather unknown routes in the lower Westerwald - maximum level of difficulty S1. In some places the old railway line is crossed at unsecured level crossings - be careful! The route is since 1.4. drive again. The same applies to the Holzbachtalbahn which, however, is not crossed at Oberhaid.
