Informazioni su Renée

Hei :-)

The Lough Derg Way is more than 60 kilometers long long-distance hiking trail that first runs along the River Shannon and later along Lake Lough Derg in County Clare. The breathtaking scenery and fascinating heritage make this trail one of the most beautiful long hikes in Ireland.Lough Derg Way is a spectacular walking trail that stretches from Limerick City via Killaloe / Ballina to Dromineer. The route runs along the banks of the River Shannon, the old Shannon shipping canal and the east bank of Lough Derg. On your way you hike along canal and river banks, on forest paths, through open landscapes and imposing avenues. What accompanies you everywhere is the wonderful green of the island - but also impressive views and a lot of water. In the following we present you with a brief overview of the individual stages:Stage 1: From Limerick City along the River Shannon through beautiful villages, the Tountinna to Lough Derg
25 kilometers - six and a half hours
Stage 2: From Lough Derg to Garrykennedy

Stage 3: From Garrykennedy over the Newtown River to the seaport of Dromineer

In the west of County Cavan rise the Cuilcagh Mountains, on whose west side the longest river on the island flows: the Shannon. The 22-kilometer Cavan Way runs through the valley from Dowra to Blacklion. You walk between the lakes Upper Lough MacNean and Lower Lough MacNean on the border with Northern Ireland. You can easily divide the tour into two stages with a stop at Shannon Pot, the source of the Shannon, on the way from Dowra to Blacklion. Stage two leads through Cavan Burren Park, a mystical landscape with Stone Age graves and huts and a fantastic view of the Cuilcagh Mountains. The stages at a glance:Stage 1: From Dowra to Shannon Pot
11.4 kilometers - two and a half hours
Stage 2: From Shannon Pot to Blacklion
9.6 kilometers - just under two hours.

The largest man-made lake in Ireland, an almost white sandy beach and three promising peaks await you on this varied tour not far from the Irish capital. If you pack your bathing suit, you can even jump into the cool water at the end of the tour and end the day with a long bath. But before that happens, you first have to get a few meters behind and under you. You shoulder your backpack on the outskirts of the small village of Ballyknockan. There is a small car park here, so you can easily get there by car or take the 65 bus from Dublin. Your route quickly leads you uphill. But the view of the lake below you becomes more beautiful and beautiful with every meter of altitude. After a little more than three and a half kilometers you have the "worst" behind you. The 698-meter-high Silsean offers breathtaking views of Blessington Lake on your left and the rounded peaks of the Wicklow Mountains on your right. It goes on to the neighboring Moanbane, which is quite even and promising. You have now reached the highest point of your hike. The hiking trail then leads you gently downhill in an arc. This gives you a lot of time to thoroughly enjoy the beautiful panorama. Black Hill, which is only 602 meters high, is the last summit of your hike. From here it goes downhill for you to the lake shore. On the white sandy beach, you can take off your hiking boots, bury your feet in the sand and enjoy the lapping of the water. From there you hike along the road back to your starting point.

On this beautiful nine kilometer tour you can expect great views of the lake Lough Veagh and the stately country house Glenveagh Castle with its beautiful castle garden from the Victorian era. The terrain is mostly flat, only at Glenveagh Castle you have to climb a few meters on the way to the castle garden.Your hike starts at the parking lot, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the Glenveagh National Park Visitor Center. On your way to the shores of Lough Veagh, you look out over the beautiful valley of Glenveagh. While you are now walking on the path that meanders along the south bank of the lake Lough Veagh, there are always wonderful views of the lake with its small scattered island and the open hills and rugged granite cliffs behind it.The lakeshore path ends for you at the country house Glenveagh Castle. The building, erected in the 1870s, is particularly noticeable because of its neo-Gothic construction in the Scottish barional style with its battlements. Just as striking is the castle garden, which offers a drastic counterpart to the wild and rough surrounding Irish nature with its strict form and order. After your tour of the castle gardens, you can decide to go back the way you are familiar or you can take the bus back to the visitor center of the national park. You can buy the bus ticket for this in the castle.

This extended day tour takes you around Lough Currane. You walk partly directly along the water, partly from the ridge north of the lake you can catch extensive views over the gentle hilly landscape. We recommend that you definitely pack enough food and drinks, as you will not find any places to stop along the way.Start and finish is the romantic little village of Waterville. Following the Kerry Way you leave the place to the north and soon it is going uphill. The trail takes you up first and then along the narrow ridge that runs northeast from Waterville. The beads of sweat of the ascent are quickly forgotten when you stop and enjoy the view in all directions. From up here you have a great view of Lough Currane and Ballinskelligs Bay.After a little up and down, turn right and descend to the river. Past the foot of the Glanbeg you walk in an arc to the shore of the lake. Now you can run out relaxed, because you have the vertical meters behind you. Along the banks of Lough Currane, your way back to Waterville takes you. In the village you can make another small detour to the western shore of the lake. With one last look over the clear, blue water, you can end the day relaxed. If you want, you can find some places to stop in Waterville to reward yourself for a great day of hiking.

This hike in Killarney National Park is packed with sights and fantastic views. It starts with a wonderful waterfall, then a promising summit is on the program, from which you can marvel at the beautiful lakes, on the banks of which you then hike to the magnificent Muckross House. There are several parking spaces on site. Since it can get full here quickly, it is advisable to take the shuttle bus from Killarney. This brings you directly to the start of the hiking trail and takes you back from the destination at Muckross House. If you park on site, you can take the bus to your car or to the starting point of the hike. The route starts with a highlight: after just a few meters you are standing in front of an imposing waterfall - the ideal setting for this hike. Then you climb up the Torc Mountain to enjoy the view over the magnificent lakes of the national park.On the same path you come back down from the mountain - this summit can also be skipped if necessary - and then go to Muckross Lake, on the banks of which you continue your hike. The view over the water, mystical forests and exciting rock formations make the route to the destination interesting and entertaining. In the Muckross House you can still take part in a guided tour and take a relaxing walk through the beautiful garden.
