Short tour, a great opportunity to see where cycling is still allowed in the Boswachterij van Dorst. Regrettably, the most beautiful parts are closed to cyclists…
Yes, you are indeed no longer allowed to cycle, it has been completely redesigned so that walkers can only enter the nature reserve and cyclists are banned. They can now no longer "through" Suraeweg, but can only cycle around it. Unfortunately...
Yes unfortunately Alfred… exactly what Julia says. The most beautiful parts can only be reached on foot, even the paved bike path is no longer accessible.
All forests near Oosterhout are now prohibited for cyclists. This applies to the Cadettenkamp, Vrachelen and Dorst. But also on the side of Rijen and Dongen. However, several clubs from Oosterhout and the surrounding area will enter into discussions with the municipality and hopefully Staatsbosbeheer…
@Sander do you know if there is anything about the card? From what has been shut down? This is new to me… or are you referring to the pieces that were actually always closed? The pieces of defense etc.?
@Bjorn. Previously, only Vrachelen was prohibited from cycling outside the course, due to defence. All signs at other forests (Cadettenkamp, Dorst, Surae) previously indicated that "free walking and cycling on paths and roads is allowed". This has now everywhere changed to just "free walking". Alfred, I'm afraid that we as cyclists will lose it, (just cursing fashion) the geitewolle sandal runners almost always win.
Because they are for nature.
And we only destroy in their experience, is already the order of the day on many MTB tracks, unfortunately

@bjornrides.cc This is what I got in response:
Dear Barry, I understand you are disappointed. I can send you this link, with some further explanation: t.co/J94yBeAw9i
I don't think I can take away your frustration with this, but maybe it makes things clearer? ^Ivo
Outside the core of Surea it is not closed but cycling is not allowed.
