After a foggy breakfast on our local mountain, we circled the beautiful district town of Meiningen. There were numerous picnic areas and shelters on the tour. From this tour you can see the city from very different perspectives. The Ringweg is well signposted (in some places your gut feeling is required…
Feels like ........ you can't get better photos ........ it's great👍👍👍
I am happy to agree with you:
Meiningen is beautiful 👍
During my visit at the beginning of September, I already made up my mind to come back soon.
Thanks for the reminder 😊🙋♂️
Many thanks to Magdeburg Corner 😍
LoKi: Unfortunately, we saw very little of the town of Meiningen itself today. But we walked past the Meiningen State Theater, for example. At some point I would like to take a closer look at the city center. The city is definitely worth a visit👌. LG 🙋♀️
Great city. The culture capital of the GDR
I have hiked and cycled a lot.
But you weren't in the Götzhöhle?
The largest rift cave in Germany. Since it had a connection to the west at the time, the injustice regime declared the cave to be in danger of collapsing and closed it up.
Been to the engine shed too?
Hello Huber, we were at the Götzhöhle. The entrance from the forest was blocked and fenced off, maybe we should have started from the city ... We didn't see the engine shed either ... 🤦♀️
The locomotive museum and repair shop is a separate day.
Götzhöhle must go up in front of the city.
Good to know 😊 The cave was on our hiking route and we were disappointed about the fenced-off sight 😞
@ Huber001🛩: how do you actually know Meiningen so well? We don't live that far away, but I was there for the first time yesterday 🤦♀️
I've been flying in summer in Saal an der Saale Ldkrs NES since 1985.
Honis used to be a maximum security prison directly behind the airport.
But it hasn't been since 1990, and since then I've been cycling in the Erzgebirge and Lkrs SM, HBN and SON as well as Suhl on break days.
That's why I also know Meiningen…
Thanks for your explanation, sounds exciting 🙂👌
