My little hike today is an afternoon emergency solution.

I actually wanted to go to the blooming Wahner Heide, but the constant rains stopped me.

So that the dog and I can get a little fresh air and exercise, short hikes are always very suitable for breaks in the rain and I get to know other areas.

Hello Barbara & 🐾🌈, the Sevenich wet meadows are a floodplain, because the Wallerbach very quickly forms a deep valley and feeds the Elzbach. The wetland section on the first part of my lap was therefore almost swampy. It is grassy, but full of small water reservoirs.

I will definitely come back to this area again. I have just found out that there is a source area of the Wallebach at the exit of Sevenich and that black storks have been seen there alongside herons. The living space would fit ...
