Yes, I've run this route umpteen times. But it is and will be my favorite route. For the first 15km of this tour there is more or less no living conifer. A shock for many, understandably. But I find it an exciting new beginning. The gloomy spruce trees have disappeared. Now the heather is in bloom and

I feel the same way, Wilmer! The spruce monoculture served the timber industry and is not at home here. I am also happy about the new beginning! 👍🏻🙋🏼‍♀️

In Saxon Switzerland it looks similar, somehow creepy, but let's see what Mother Nature can come up with 🙂

  • Hello Wilmer, I fully support your comments 👍🏻 Even late insights contribute to changes! This will make the future exciting! To follow this and to see it on tour is also nice and reassuring 😊 We were able to experience this on many repeated hikes 😍👌🏻 Your last picture shows idyll and expresses inner peace 😘😊

Me too. Where the deforestation has been a while ago, great natural areas are created where the insects can feel comfortable again👍

Hello Rudi, unfortunately no. There are areas where Douglas firs have already been planted (a Douglas fir on each sawn off spruce. They can withstand drought. But this summer they drowned immediately). Other areas were fenced off. Most of the time nothing has happened until now.

    In the areas with the

Ah, Douglas firs - not exactly native plants either. Still interesting, such a forest conversion is quite long-term.

At this point, an ironic thank you to Komoot, who are testing a new feature (yes, they really told me that: "We still have to decide what works better in the end.")
