We came back from this route today. However, starting in Passau. Basically beautiful landscape, signage great, trails great too! The only critical point was that there was no toilet, no kiosk / drinking water well on the route around the Schlögener Schlinge (~ 40km). Not just off the track.

do you mean free public water points and toilets because almost every transfer point for ferries has inns?
