Being a komoot Pioneer is an expression of passion for your sport and sharing your adventures. The Pioneer programme is all about sharing your highlights, photos and tips with the komoot community to inspire other athletes.Your reward is not only recognition from others, but also the chance to participate in unforgettable "Pioneer Trips" that komoot organises again and again in cooperation with different tourist regions to say "thank you" to particularly hard-working pioneers. In this Collection, you will get to know the four British Pioneers Kelly, Ned, James and Darren. They met for a long weekend in the famous Outdoor City of Sheffield to explore the city and the great trails in the Peak District.

This Pioneer Trip also follows the community philosophy to inspire. It is not only a thank you to our four participants but also a source of inspiration for you for your next trip. We planned the routes as a varied weekend ride that can be easily copied by every rider. The thriving metropolis of Sheffield serves as the perfect base camp to discover the bike routes and relax afterwards. With plenty of sights to see and real English pubs to enjoy a cosy evening – you are guaranteed to have that holiday feeling on this trip. During the day, on the other hand, action is on the agenda. In the Peak District National Park, you will find an impressive bike area in the middle of the beautiful landscape with fantastic views over the region. As the birthplace of the Trail Center, the area has a very special mountain bike culture. Our four Pioneers had an unforgettable time and captured their memories with great photos.

A weekend trip to Sheffield may sound time consuming and difficult at first but you can actually reach Sheffield easily from most major German airports in a matter of hours. The best flight connections are to Manchester which is nearby. From there, you can take a fast train directly to Sheffield. Depending on where you travel from, it will take you three to four hours to arrive in the city from your home – a trip to the Alps usually takes much longer. Sheffield is not called the Outdoor City for nothing. Here, everything is adjusted to suit bikers. Numerous accommodation options ensure you have a pleasant stay and, thanks to the wide range of high-quality rental bikes, you don't even need to bring your own mountain bike with you. With countless trails on the outskirts of the city, the best of which are presented by our Pioneers in this Collection, the area is perfect for a weekend trip. But, there's absolutely nothing to stop you from staying longer – there's plenty more epic trails for a full mountain bike adventure!
