Weitwanderweg 888

When the sun was shining we started in Schwechat and walked the way to Rauchwarth. Then we had to go back to the car. There are a lot of dirt roads and that's why we didn't have to go back the same way but could turn the hike into a circular route.

The sunshine had to be used and the 2nd part of WW888 was tackled. The paths were mostly frozen or covered with snow. Only about 1 km of dirt road on the way back was totally slushy. In the wonderful weather we continued the long-distance hiking trail 888. We parked the car in Wasenbruck and walked along dirt roads to Gramatneusiedl. In Gramatneusiedl we went back from our last end point along the WW888 to the car via Reisenberg and Pischelsdorf. We saw over 100 deer and over 100… leggi altro

In great hiking weather we continued the WW888 from Wasenbruck to Leithaprodersdorf. We didn't see that many deer and rabbits today, but we saw thousands of snowdrops and the first violets. Thank you I'm outside for the reservation and the nice company.

The weather forecast was not quite right today. With a cloudy sky and at times very unpleasant winds, we did the 5th part of WW888. The paths are dry. Unfortunately we didn't have a clear view. With optimal hiking weather it went along various rivers and streams to Unterwaltersdorf. We saw over 100 deer and a lot of birds. The distant view was terrific. Hussar temple, Anninger, Schneeberg, Hohe Wand, Buchkogel, quarry in Mannersdorf - everything was clearly visible. A very nice stretch from WW888.

We used the nice weather to continue with WW888. Today we saw a lot of deer, rabbits and of course birds. In Unterwaltersdorf, Weigelsdorf and Ebreichsdorf there are many old buildings that are always labeled with an information board.

A hike in the sunshine accompanied by the twittering of birds and the scent of the many flowering shrubs and trees. In the last third the headwind was strong.

In very warm weather we continued with WW888. The distant view was wonderful, hardly any people on the move, the animal world (hares, deer and birds) showed itself from its most beautiful side and the trees and hedges were in bloom and smelled. Today we walked the route from the finish (Hennersdorf) to the start (Laxenburg) because there would have been no parking near our last end point. It also had the advantage that we were able to reward ourselves with a delicious ice cream about half the way in Laxenburg.

Today the time had finally come and we were able to complete our long-distance hiking trail 888. The entire trail is 131.6. Since we almost always made a circular route back to the car, it was a total of 231.60 km. Today we took the train to Hennersdorf and went to Schwechat. At the end of the way we… leggi altro
