Rolling hills, wild open spaces, fresh air and rich wildlife make this region the perfect place for anyone who loves the great outdoors. Choose from miles of walking paths through amazing woodland and rugged coast. With some of the best bird watching in Britain, you can while away many hours watching the resident puffins in the summer months.Often eclipsed by its Northern neighbour, East Yorkshire is an overlooked hidden gem, nestled on the North East coast between North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. It boasts unrivalled family walks, whatever you're looking for, with far less footfall than the nearby national park. Taking a little adventurer with you shouldn’t be daunting or stressful. It is a great bonding experience for both of you. Time outdoors benefits your mental and physical health and teaches your little one the magic and beauty of the great outdoors, magic that will stay with them for a lifetime.
With the right clothing and equipment, a little bit of patience and plenty of snacks, you are guaranteed to have a brilliant time. Embrace the nappy explosions, the sudden downpours and the giant tantrums - it’s all part of the adventure. You will take something away from every walk you do and create memories for your children that they’ll take into adulthood.
Blaze Trails is the UK’s parent and baby walking community. We’re parents who support each other to get outdoors and go walking with our babies. We have over 60 parent and baby walking groups around the country. You can join a local group or even start your own!Walking is brilliant for our mental and physical health, but getting outdoors with a baby can feel daunting. We’re here to provide you with the company, support and inspiration you need to make that step out into nature fun and achievable. We help people with their babies connect with nature and with other families too. All our walks are free and organised by parents for parents. You can find out more, including information about all of our walking groups, as well as tips and tricks for getting outside with your little ones on our website: blazetrails.org.uk.This Collection is made up of some of our favourite family walks in East Yorkshire, all tried and tested by us, our members and our little explorers. With a mixture of baby carrying, pushchair and little leg friendly adventures, there is something for everyone. You can complete these routes in your own time and at your own pace – or the speed that your little adventurers will allow! We hope you enjoy the walks as much as us and we look forward to seeing your family adventures in East Yorkshire!
