Orchards, nature reserves and a wealth of history: The Thurgau Panorama Trail is a 23-kilometre (14-mi) two-day hike that winds through the beautiful Swiss canton of Thurgau. Crossing gentle terrain with no significant uphill climbs, it's perfect if you're looking for a longer yet relaxed hiking adventure.
Starting from Amriswil, the first stage takes you to the historic town of Bischofszell. Along the way, you'll pass numerous landmarks such as Hagenwil Water Castle with its knight's hall, the old town of Hauptwilen, and the Horbacher Pond. A highlight is crossing the Sitter River halfway through the Tour on a historic ferry.
Stage 2 leads from Bischofszell to Wil in St. Gallen, allowing you to explore attractions like a stone bridge dating back to 1487, the panoramic 733-metre (2404-ft) high Nollen, and the old town of Wil. Throughout the journey, you'll discover magnificent natural landscapes and serene surroundings.
Both the starting point, Amriswil, and the destination, Wil, are easily accessible by public transport. You can easily plan your arrival and departure by train (sbb.ch/en). In the town of Bischofszell, there are plenty of accommodation options.
