This tour was very diverse in every way. From Torfhaus we are over the moor on the easy-to-walk Goetheweg up to the Brocken. In between we passed the former inner-German border. The tour begins at the beautiful and well-known stave church in Hahnenklee. The Upper Harz water shelves are a sophisticated water regulation system that was used for mining. Belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Granestausee is one of the youngest dams in the Harz Mountains. Used for drinking water production, electricity generation and flood protection.

Unfortunately the weather was pretty modest, you could only guess at the wonderful view. The cliffs are sensational, we haven't seen them all for a long time. One more reason to come back😀
