Actually, we just wanted to take a quick look at the town of Bernkastel-Kues, turned into an alley and were - whoosh - in the middle of the fairy-tale oak forest. Today we were looking forward to a hike around Eltz Castle. We started in the village of Moselkern and walked through the Elztal along the Elz river, always in the forest. Today it should be the vineyards. We started right on the doorstep in Trittenheim. A bit of what we had chosen, but we followed our gut feeling. Moselsteig? Another affair? R18 or R19? Due to some wounds, Trier was explored in airy "Roman slippers" today. The first sights were interestingly different, e.g. the graffiti or the oversized toilet brush on the Roman Bridge - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, mind you. Saarburg, the wonderful little town on the river Leuk, which with its thundering waterfall ensures that you no longer understand your own word nearby. Just drink coffee, close your eyes and listen.

It is definitely worth climbing the ruins of the Saarburg. You have a great view on all sides. And friendly people. Very nice.

Today's tour was intended for "Roman slippers" for still damaged feet and turned out to be far more varied than expected. We mostly followed the Saar-Hunsrück or oil mill route. In the end, however, we left out the oil or feast mill.
