Mosel

The first tour on my hiking adventure on the Moselle was a round trip around Cochem and not a flat stage. Sometimes it was steep uphill and downhill, but you are rewarded with beautiful views. Cochem is already very much shaped by tourism and definitely worth a visit.

The start should actually always begin from Cochem along the Moselsteig Trail. But because of the rain I decided to start in Klotten ... so first a short train ride to Klotten. The weather for hiking was great and so we continued along the Moselsteig Trail. Today the tour required special challenges to cope with some steep passages. With the right weather it went to another stage of the "Moselsteig". This time, too, the climbs were not without. But the exertion is worth it ... simply beautiful paths and views. This time I also visited Thurant Castle ... there was far less crowds here than Eltz Castle.

Started after a short shower, the weather was perfect on the last stage of the Moselsteig. It was also the longest stage, but only the first 8 km were sporty again.
