Slowenien: der Nordwesten mit dem Trekkingrad

Via remote paths and paths from Čerkno over the Šentviška plateau (where nothing is flat) into the Idrijka valley and then the Soča to Tolmin. I also put photos of the Tolmin Gorge here at the end. That was a separate tour in the evening, and also partly on foot, but it is mandatory for the day and for Tolmin.

Very slowly and comfortably, because of the summer temperatures with lots of breaks to look, swim and be amazed. The climb to the Kolovrat is tough, but it's worth it, not only because of the view over the Soča Valley but also because of the open-air museum about the First World War up there. A wonderful bike tour comes to an end. Before crossing the border, first cross the Wurzenpass a little and then halfway along the slope. The mountains west of Škofja Loka already fascinated me and pushed me to the limit in 2019: picturesque landscape, a "photo idyll" at every corner, but the hills have it all: sometimes quite steep, and the paths often rough or loose gravel roads which can no longer be used with the trekking bike in places… leggi altro
