Weser - Werra - Kanonenbahn - Leine

Today is the first stage of our WWKL bike tour: Weser-Werra-Kanonenbahn-Leine. From Hildesheim to the Weser to Bodenwerder.

The Ith crossing through the Duinger Forest to Holzen and then on to the Lenne leisure path to Bodenwerder.

The second stage up the Weser in the best late summer weather with many highlights.

The third stage on the Oberweser to Hann. Münden.

The highlight at the beginning was the ascent to the Weser Skywalk near Karlshafen, which was already well attended at 11 a.m. Nearby there is also the Lower Saxony-Hesse-NRW triangle.

The Romanesque monastery church of Bursfelde is also culturally interesting.

With high summer temperatures along the Werra from Hann. Münden to Eschwege.

The Werra Cycle Path is not as heavily frequented as the Weser Cycle Path, but it also has its charms: Near-natural riverside paths - but also quite new sections such as in the Thuringian part near Lindewerra.

Today's highlight: the Kanonenbahnradweg from Frieda to Dingelstädt. Completed October 2019 and really an experience. Especially the trolley station and the viaduct at Lengenfeld as well as the 1530 m long Küllstedter tunnel. The other 4 tunnels are 200-300 m long. Unfortunately, few places to stop for… leggi altro

The penultimate stage on the Leineradweg to Einbeck. The Thuringian part is beautiful and good: beautiful villages in Eichsfeld, well-developed paths in the green upper reaches of the Leine.
