E 5 🇪🇺 Oberstdorf - Meran

After a short bus taxi ride from Oberstdorf train station, we start the first stage of crossing the Alps at Spielmannsau. It goes through the Sperrbachtal up to the Kemptener hut (1846 m).

On the 2nd day of crossing the Alps, we leave the completely overcrowded Kemptener hut quite early and hike up to the Mädelejoch (1973m). Then our descent into the Höhenbach valley to Holzgau (Austria) begins. A highlight is the 200 m long rope suspension bridge ⭐️.

Second part of the 2nd day:

A taxi bus takes us from Holzgau to the Almajur valley. The night before, a huge thunderstorm had torn away the bridge over the stream. Therefore we first trudge through the mud to the Bodenalpe. Now it goes steeply up to the Leutkircher hut at 2251 m altitude ⛰.

Nella 6a tappa della traversata delle Alpi, una lunga salita porta da Vent al Martin-Busch-Hütte (2501 m). Dopo un pasto si prosegue fino alla Similaunhütte a 3019 m di altitudine.
