Binniein Mòr is 1,130 metres above sea level and is the highest peak in the Mamores. Taking it on by bike is no easy feat. You'll start in Kinlochleven and it's all up from here until the summit, a mix of pedalling, pushing and carrying your bike will get you to the ridge line. It's an incredible route and not one that you can rush, the conditions are at times challenging under foot. Upon arriving at the summit (on a clear day) you have magnificent views over to Ben Nevis and across Lochaber. It is truly stunning. The descent is challenging for the best of riders: the terrain is tough going and for the best part it's awkward. On the ridge line things do open up, there's a little bit of speed to be had and you'll roll nicely but not for long. Off the edge you're plunged into tight steep switchbacks. The trail narrows and surrounding boulders get bigger as you make your way to the bottom. It's a rewarding ride and some may say type 2 fun where you'll be happy just to have made it home in one piece! This series has been created carbon neutral: all our journey emissions have been offset and the advertising revenue generated from the YouTube series will be split between planting more native trees in Scotland and the local trail associations.
