The water tower in the south of Prenzlauer Berg was built in the middle of the 19th century and is one of the oldest water towers in Berlin. To this day, the tower is lovingly called the "Dicker Hermann" by many Berliners. Meanwhile, he serves as a residential building.
Beautifully situated in a small public park, with many benches, a playground, trampoline and table tennis, you can make yourself comfortable up here with a picnic blanket, enjoy the view of the TV tower and Wilhelminian style buildings and the subsequent visit to one of the many street cafes or restaurants around the Wasserturmplatz.

The "big" water tower was built to house the people working for the water supply. For the water tower was located at the gates of the city.
It was then quite common to build attractive apartments on the waterworks. So the employees were immediately on site in the event of an emergency.
Above the former water reservoir today is a small meadow with benches. You have a nice view.
In addition to the water storage there is a playground, public trampoline and ping-pong tables.
