Margarethenschluchtpfad

A short but impressive gorge in the small Odenwald. The rugged and very steep gorge is hardly expected in the rather gentle Odenwald and the climb is not quite as "alpine" as the numerous warning signs proclaim, but unusually steep and rocky. Definitely worth a detour, the entire trail takes less than an hour.

The Margarethenschlucht (Margaret canyon) is a gorge in the Odenwald Buntsandstein on the district of Neckargerach between Mosbach and Eberbach am Neckar, about 1.5 kilometers southeast of Neckargerach.
 
The gorge is very well accessible, secured with ropes. You should already have surefootedness and a head for heights. In some places you have to walk across the stream. Therefore, it can also be very slippery.

Waterfalls and difficult trails through the gorge - definitely worth it.

Hello, today Neckarsteig tour from Neckargerach to Neunkirchen made and with bus to Eberbach station, then with S2 back to Neckargerach to the starting point.

For experienced hikers, the ascent through the gorge is easily feasible. Ordinary footwear is mandatory and wet, the path is not recommended.

The cascades in the Margaret Gorge form the highest waterfall in the Odenwald. The stream is crossed by the trail in several places, there are steep passages and short climbs are also necessary. Therefore, sure-footedness and appropriate footwear should be available.
Ideally, you can choose a dry day out to visit the gorge - hot summer days are an option, as it is very pleasant here due to the shade and the evaporation cold.
