The Vogelkoje Meeram was used to catch wild ducks. It is today a cultural monument from the times of self-sufficiency of the islanders.

As all board paths for bicycles locked-but you can also go on foot.

In the middle of the nature reserve, a circular route was created through the Vogelkoje. It was too busy to see so many birds, but it is a nice and relatively short circuit.

The Vogelkoje between fog and northern village is nestled in a swampy heathland.

The decommissioned bird berth (duck fishing facility) is now, contrary to its former purpose, a small refuge for various waterfowl. The gray goose does not have to worry about anything either.

After its closure, the bird's berth continued to operate as a visual object and two of the pipes were repaired. Today you can observe and feed duck, geese and even swans up close. The terrain is accessed through an island-typical boardwalk, on the course inviting informative signs and experience stations to explore the local flora and fauna and encourage lingering.

The area around the bird berth is best explained on very informative information boards. The path is also interesting for children and ends up with a playground.
