The Pöstlingbergbahn is a 2,880-kilometer narrow-gauge railway in Linz, linking the Urfahr district with the Pöstlingberg. Built in 1897 in the meter gauge mountain railway was umgespurt between 2008 and 2009 to 900 millimeters and linked to the Linzer streetcar network. Since then, it is served by the 4.140 kilometer long line 50, which runs continuously to the main square in the city center of Linz. Like the tram, the Pöstlingbergbahn is operated by the Linz AG Linien and is also considered one of the steepest adhesion railways in the world.
