Wartbaum an der Hohen Straße

The Wartbaum, a linden tree on the Hohe Straße between Windecken and Bruchköbel-Roßdorf, is documented there as early as the 16th century. The place served as a place of execution and also as a burial place for criminals. Today's artistic design as part of the regional park route Hohe Straße of the Regional Park Rhein-Main alludes to various historical events, for example to the so-called "Emperor Maneuver" in 1897, when the emperor and aristocracy viewed the troop movements from the control room.

This place takes its name from the giant summer bark, which was planted around 1600 and is still there today. But not only the Wartbaum makes this place so beautiful, but also the wonderful view from the heights.There are also countless steles on the Warta Tree depicting soldiers and commemorating the Imperial maneuver of 1897 that took place in the area.
