Climbing a mountain peak, hiking over alpine meadows or rather strolling through forests? Thanks to over 65,000 kilometers of marked hiking trails, you can discover virtually every corner of Switzerland on foot. The hiking trails are well signposted and as varied as the landscape itself — the path quickly becomes your destination. So that you can discover the full range of Swiss nature, it's worth jumping on the train between the tours. Switzerland's trains will take you to the remotest corners and lonely valleys. The interval timetable in Switzerland makes your planning particularly easy: every hour and every half-hour, all trains travel across Switzerland, making it child's play to change trains.
In June 2019, six adventurous bloggers will each be exploring a spectacular hiking route in various Swiss regions: Climb the Mythen near Lucerne, enjoy the view from the San Salvatore in Ticino or a relaxed rail hiking trip? Switzerland also has something for every type of hiker in the Valais, Graubünden and Bern region, with a wide variety of hiking trails to choose from — the path quickly becomes the destination! Discover the various routes here and embark on a rail hiking trip across Switzerland with “Viel Unterwegs” (bhc2019.myswitzerland.com/region/bahnwandern/)!
There's also a great competition: Test your knowledge of Switzerland and win your very own personal trip to Switzerland for two: With SWISS you fly to Switzerland, where you will explore the Bern region and Ticino. A total of five overnight stays await you at the Handeck Hotel and Natural Resort and the Hotel Belvedere Locarno. On top of that, you'll get two Swiss Travel Passes, with which you can use buses, trains and ships on your journey free of charge.

Whether you book the individual trips or buy a Swiss Travel Pass, it's up to you. All information about the Swiss Travel System can be found at swisstravelsystem.com.
