Are you also raring to get out this summer – to relax, take a deep breath and explore? Then jump on your bike and cycle up to alpine pastures, through idyllic valleys and along clear mountain streams. In the unspoilt landscapes of Austria’s Alpbach Valley in Tyrol, you can enjoy an active summer holiday to the fullest. In this Collection, you’ll find Tours that are great fun for e-bikes and mountain bikes.
Nestled in the Tyrolean Unterland, the Alpbach Valley is framed by the Kitzbühel Alps and the Rofan Mountains. Popular in winter for its Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau resort, the region’s nature is also a paradise for numerous activities in summer. The Alpbach Valley has preserved its original feel, which is often hard to find elsewhere. With its uniform, traditional wooden houses, Alpbach is considered the most beautiful village in Austria.
The region cares about protecting its cultural heritage and also the quality of its food, making it an Eldorado for foodies. The number of farms here has barely changed over the past 100 years. Many of the inns and hotels offer farm-to-table food and serve local products, whether bacon, bread or cheese. You can taste the difference.
In this Collection, we present eight Tours that reveal the most beautiful spots in our region. All Tours are a pleasure to ride with or without an electric motor. The routes range in length from a leisurely 14 to a sporty 31 kilometres (8.6 – 19.2 mi). There’s an alpine pasture, inn or snack station on every route. Sometimes you can combine hiking and biking and continue to a mountain summit on foot. After your adventure, you can take a refreshing swim in one of the bathing lakes or stroll through a quaint town centre in Alpbach, Alpbachtal or Rattenberg.
